As a branch of the first agricultural one of Chinese 500 largest enterprises__Beidahuang Group, Heilongjiang Beidahuang Potato Industry Group(HBPIG) is the biggest Group engaging in potato industry of China and the national leading enterprise of agriculture- industrialization. It governs Erlongshan Potato Starch Industry Company, Jiusan Potato Starch Industry Company, Keshan Potato Starch Industry Company, Weishan Potato Starch Industry Company, Keshan Whole Potato Flour Industry Company, Potato Seed Research and Exploiture Center and Potato Academe. The Group built material base, researched and exploited potato seed, processed a series of potato products, developed the whole procedure′s science and technology simultaneously, created a new pattern of industrialization for the first time. The Group owns three modern potato starch production lines which are the most advanced in the world, each of them can process 90 tons potatoes per hour, and one whole potato flour production line that can produce 6000 tons whole flour per year. The Group can process 700000 tons potatoes per year, total throughput are 100000 tons refined potato starch, 6000tons whole potato flour, 1000 tons vermicelli and strip vermicelli, 5000000 detoxify seedlings, 20000000 original seeds, 4000 tons original seed I, 40000 tons original seed II, 400000 tons detoxify potato seeds. The Group linked planting and processing in a row. The products of Group are all green and pollution-free, include potato seed, commercial potato, refined potato starch, snowflake whole potato flour, vermicelli, strip vermicelli, modified potato starch, potato grocery, etc.

The Group′s Potato Academe is the unique organization of China with the purpose of cultivating seed biologically, developing new-type potato starch, manufacturing modefied potato starch and its ramification, processing byproduct and reusing biological energy. The academe established modern center laboratory and center experimentation factory, retained Dr. Li Zhiguang, the expert of American food project, to take charge of the work.

The Group owns 66667 ha. Potato material base and Beidahuang Potato Industry Group Agriculture Service Center. The Center owns modern machines of planting managing harvesting storing and protecting purchased from German US Netherlands and Norway, has implemented mechanization of planting, management, harvesting and storing for the first time, achieved the aerial work.

Taking the special advantage of the capacity of output, variety of productions, support of material base and the development and research of technology, Beidahuang Refined Potato Starch has achieved the most output, the best quality and the lowest cost in the domestic potato industry community in past years. In December, 2006, the Group was authorized to be Provincial Significant Agriculture- industrialized Leading Enterprise by Heilongjiang Province Government.
